#BeLikeLarry Boise Day of Service

Still Need 8 more volunteers please!

June 25th has been declared "a day of service" in Boise to honor Larry Gebert. So get your volunteerism on with BBSC. Don't miss your chance to #BeLikeLarry!

This annual club service project entails removing roadside debris from the upper eight miles of Bogus Basin Road.  Each volunteer needs to wear good walking shoes/boots, gloves and dress appropriate for the weather.  You may want to bring a water bottle and sunscreen, too. Pairs of volunteers are dropped off and walk downhill for 1 mile, covering both sides of the road.

Ideally, we need 16 volunteers to walk the road, and two drivers with pickup trucks to help shuttle volunteers to designated drop-off and pick-up spots on the upper 8 miles of the road.  The truck drivers also pick up the full trash bags to transport them back to the Forest Service sign location for ACHD to pick up at a later date.

Date/Time:   Saturday, June 25, 2022
10:00am until around 2:00pm, including lunch.

Meeting Location:  If you wish to carpool, gather at 9:30 AM at Highlands Elementary School (3434 N. Bogus Basin Rd, Corner of BB Road and Curling Drive)

Otherwise, meet at the large parking lot just below the Forest Service sign past the 8 mile road marker by 10:00 am.
Look for the Bogus Basin Ski Club flag!
Volunteers will check-in with Jane, pair up, and the yellow fluorescent safety vests and orange plastic bags will be handed out there so we can load up promptly at 10!
(Please do not park at the Forest Service sign.)

Note:  please come back to the Forest Service sign so we can take a quick group photo for the Mogul.  Volunteers will then return to your cars and head down the hill for delicious pizza and a cold beverage to swap stories!  It’s fun to hear about the most unique items picked up!

Chairperson:   Please contact Jane Gabbert (208) 861-6587 for questions and to sign up  by giving her your name, email and phone number.  If you cannot volunteer after signing up, please notify Jane and try to find another club member to substitute in your place.

Thank you for volunteering!

We always have a great time with our ski club buddies.  Your name will also be entered in the drawing for a prize at the end of the 2023 ski season at our annual membership meeting.

Please contact Jane Gabbert with any questions.
