This years winter ride had snow mixed with rain at the start, turning to a steady rain on our way to Twisted District Brew Co. Turn out was low. My friend David who is also a return AirBnB guest of mine came to ride and help me set up. Finally Edna showed up ready to ride. Laura also showed up to support us and not ride. She’s probably the smart one. Then at the last minute Christine Hill showed up. We had one last final toast for the ride and the four of us took off. We were totally soaked when we got to Twisted District Brew Co. We were greeted at the door with a, “Wow you actually showed up in this weather.” I ordered some hot food and a beer right away. I was glad I had brought some towels to help dry out. The ride to Mad Swede Brew Hall was a bit dryer. Was nice to see some people come for the MEET UP and help support us drenched riders. The Nocturnals played great music for us once again. And of course the beer was perfect. Due to time and the weather we didn’t make it to Woodland Empire. At the end Edna and Christine got a ride back. David and I headed out to the elements to get hit by a pretty good sleet storm. We’ll it is the Winter Ride. What else did I expect? Looking forward to The Spring ride. Thanks to who all showed up to ride and who come to the MEET UP. - Photos & commentary by Steve Strickland

The mission of Boise Adaptive Snowsport Education (BASE) is to facilitate winter sports opportunities for individuals with disabilities through professional ski and snowboard education in a safe environment which increases physical, social, and functional skills.
Since 1942, Bogus Basin has been The Treasure Valley’s year-round destination for mountain recreation, education, and community. Bogus Basin is not for profit. It’s for Idahoans. It’s for community. And a mission to make the outdoors accessible today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
